Code of Conduct

We as coaches need to take the initiative to show the support necessary for our teams to thrive. We should at all times be role models for good sportsmanship. Ridiculing the play of our athletes, decision making of our coaching staff or a bad call by an official can only lead to a negative attitude that is carried over to the team and onto the field. Even if we do not always agree with the actions of a player or a referee, remember that they are trying to do their best and they deserve our support, not our criticism.

SMGLL Jets wants to remain known as a Club Team where good sportsmanship is an important part of the total athletic program-for coaches, athletes, officials, spectators, and parents. Please help us to continue the tradition of good sportsmanship.

SMGLL Jets Coaches are here to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for athletes participating in the fast paced highly competitive Club Lacrosse circuit by following this code of ethics:

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players and officials at every game, practice, or associated sports event.

I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my athletes ahead of any personal desire to win.

I will demand a drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free sports environment for my athletes and agree to assist by refraining from their use at all sports events.

I will remember that the game is for athletes.

I will ask my athletes to treat other players, coaches, fans, parents, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.

I understand the spirit of fair play while playing hard.

Spectators

Code of Conduct

Spectators at all times must be role models for good sportsmanship. Ridiculing the play of our athletes, decision making of our coaching staff or a bad call by an official can only lead to a negative attitude that is carried over to the team and onto the field. Even if we do not always agree with the actions of a player, coach, or a referee, remember that they are trying to do their best and they deserve our support, not our criticism.

Jets Parents/Spectators are here to provide positive support, and encouragement for athletes participating in the fast paced highly competitive Club Lacrosse circuit by following this code of ethics:
